WebAssessing the soft tissues. The X-ray appearances of soft tissues of the chest can be misleading. As well as hiding genuine pathology, normal soft-tissues may mimic disease. If you are in doubt, the first thing to do is to re-examine the patient. If you are still uncertain about the X-ray appearances, then discuss the image with a radiologist.

WebOct 10, 2024 · Photoelectric effect. An x-ray photon interacts with a bound electron from the inner shell. All of the energy of the photon is transferred to the electron. The electron then has enough energy to be freed as a photoelectron and leaves a ‘hole’ in the shell. The hole is filled by electrons from outer shells. Web10 hours ago · In radiotherapy, precision in targeting tumor tissue while minimizing damage to healthy tissue is crucial. Monitoring the dose of radiation delivered and absorbed in real-time, particularly in the gastrointestinal tract, poses significant difficulty. In the case of the knee, it will involve the detection of secondary signs such as effusion or soft tissue swelling. Check for an effusion on the horizontal beam lateral: peripatellar fat pads should sit next to each other. anterior suprapatellar fat pad.
WebX-ray absorption (or attenuation) allows us to use X-Rays to produce images. The dark and light areas on a radiograph image represent the intensity of X-Rays that reach the detector plate. They indicate the level of attenuation caused by the tissues between the source and detector. Because different tissues attenuate X-rays by different amounts ...
